Lilla Rose Giveaway!

Hair Intervention

Identity concealed to protect the innocent

*Update: This giveaway is now closed!  Congratulations to Sarah Ann, our winner!  Be sure to Like Five in Tow on Facebook, or follow me on Twitter, because more great giveaways are coming soon!

I have crazy hair.

The sight of my hair first thing in the morning is enough to stop songbirds from singing.  Small mammals flee from my pre-combed presence.

In order to make my hair look half-way presentable, I have to spend a lot of time in the bathroom wetting, scrunching, gelling, and diffusing.  It’s like having a sixth child.

Now, there are ways to compensate for bad hair days.  I think the French Braid was invented by someone who got tired of all the maintenance involved in having naturally curly hair.  I have never mastered the French Braid, however.  My fingers aren’t cut out for the kind of acrobatics involved in weaving my own hair behind my head.  I blame my mother, who refused to give me a fashion-forward big sister when I asked for one in seventh grade.

Alas, my hair sculpting talents have remained limited to the ponytail and the messy bun.  Lovely, right?

Messy Bun

Sometimes, I try to compensate by adding hair accessories.  Sadly, I do not have a good track record with hair accessories.  Note, with horror, the example below:

Hair mistakes

It’s okay,  You can pity me.

Thankfully, Lilla Rose consultant Sarah Ives came to my rescue.  She promised she could help me, even though I have absolutely no aptitude for hair styling because my mother did not give me an older sister when I asked for one in seventh grade.  I believe I mentioned that already.

Sarah told me about the hair products she sells, which include a hair clip called a Flexi.  It is so ingeniously simple, even I can use it.  Plus, I can use it a million different ways to create beautiful hairstyles in no more time than it takes to pull it into a ponytail.  Lilla Rose even has  hairstyling tutorials for people like me.  Check out the video gallery!

Bad Hair Day

Sarah wanted to send me a Flexi to try, but first I had to watch a sizing video.  The video is short and extremely helpful.  I would not have known what size to order but the video makes it easy.  I needed a large Flexi.  But OH!  It was too hard to pick just one.  They are all so beautiful.  So I made Sarah pick for me.  Yep.  I did.

This is what she sent me.

Lilla Rose Flexi

Enchanting Copper Rose

The clip is simple and straightforward, but also very well made.  It has no plastic parts and it really does “flex” around all my hair.  It holds so well, I was able to keep it in while working out and it didn’t come loose and it didn’t tug uncomfortably.  In fact, I kind of forgot I was wearing it at all.

I love the fact that I can look nice and put together without spending time “doing” my hair.  With the Flexi, I can style my hair in just a few minutes and walk out the door, ready to go.  No birds stop singing, no small animals flee.  It is a beautiful thing.

A Flexi makes an easy up-do for my girls

Now, I know what you’re thinking.  You want one.  But you can’t have one.  You can have two!  That’s right!  Independent consultant Sarah Ives is sponsoring this giveaway, and she has generously agreed to let the winner choose two Flexi products (valued up to $16 each)!   One winner will be chosen at random at on Wednesday, February 20 at 10 pm PST.

Here’s how to enter!

1) Watch the sizing video.

2) Dream a little on Sarah’s website!  After you’ve watched the sizing video, shop around on her website,  then tell us which two Flexis you will choose if you win!

3) For an extra entry, you may also follow Sarah on Twitter, visit her Facebook page, or subscribe to her newsletter.  She will keep you up-to-date on sale prices, Limited Edition products, and more!

4) As always, you can earn an extra entry by sharing this giveaway on any social media site you frequent.  It’s hard to do.  I know.  But God still loves you.

5) If you have any questions, feel free to contact Sarah!  She’s absolutely wonderful to work with.  She loves what she does and will go the extra mile for you.  I have been exceedingly impressed with her!  She is a busy mom who manages to balance home and her own business, and that is enough to qualify her for Super Star status.  So, if you have any questions about the products, or even wonder about starting your own Lilla Rose business, Sarah’s your girl!

*This giveaway is open to readers in the US, Canada, and Mexico and to anyone who has not won a Lilla Rose giveaway in the past six months.

Today’s giveaway prizes have a day of rest in mind.  As moms, it’s hard to find a moment to ourselves, much less a whole day!  These gifts will help you find that quiet moment you need to recharge.

The first giveaway winner will receive a beautiful package of indulgent handcrafted bath and personal care items from Sharon Rowland at Lovin’ the Lather.   Sharon personally designs and creates each item on her website, from soaps to lip balms to personal care products.  She uses real ingredients you can feel good about using and putting on your children.  Plus, they are gorgeous!   I love the variety and creativity of her products.

Next, my bloggy friend Laurie Wallin of Living Power Life Coaching is offering one winner this beautiful journal.

journal

It has almost 200 pages for you to record your thoughts, ramblings, or doodles.  Or, you can sign up for one of Laurie’s powerful online coaching classes and use it to record your growth!

Laurie

This is Laurie

If you haven’t met Laurie yet, she has a passion to help women discover their joy!  When you visit her website, you can even download her free e-book, Embrace the Crazy: Practical Ideas for When Life Seems Impossible!  Boy, we all have days like that, don’t we?

The final prize of the day comes from author Jessie Gunderson.  She has been published in a devotional book humorously titled If I Can Do All Things Through Christ Why Can’t I Find My Car Keys?  It includes a “year’s worth of weekly devotions to help women on-the-go find a moment to spend with God.”  Anyone around here need that?

Best family picture.  Ever.

If you hop over to Jessie’s blog, you’ll soon see that one of the reasons I love her is because she has a heart for children.  Also, her family wears great hats and takes funny pictures.

She and her family are sacrificially saving and raising money to adopt two children from Ethiopia.  In fact, the proceeds of the book above don’t go to buying the Gunderson’s a new car or a the most fashionable new shoes.  Nope.  They’re using the money to redeem an African brother and sister out of a life of poverty.  That just gets to my heart.  I hope you’ll visit her and let her know you’ll be praying!

How to Enter

1) I like to keep giveaways simple.  All you have to do to be entered for this giveaway is to comment below!  That’s it!  It would be fabulous if you also subscribed to my blog, followed me on Twitter, or liked my Facebook page, but I can’t make that a requirement because of Facebook policies (and it also complicates things and that sort of defeats the whole “simple” thing).

2) Now, I know some of you are over-achievers and want to do more to increase your chances of winning.  Okay. Here you go: you  may earn extra entries by visiting and commenting on our sponsors’ blogs, Facebook, or Twitter pages.  Why not subscribe, like, or follow them while you’re there?  Come back here and leave a separate comment to let me know you went a-visiting so I can enter your name twice.

3) Share any story from Five in Tow that has impacted you.  You can even share the giveaway!  Comment below (in a separate comment from any of the above) with the title of the post you shared and you’ll earn a third entry.

4) This giveaway will remain open for three days.  I will draw two winners on February 5 at 4 pm PST and notify the winners.  Prizes will be delivered by the sponsors within 4-6 weeks.
